DNS as the developers and distributors of the waterbelt, are also committed to helping those without access to clean water.

We support  a project  of Kindernothilfe Deutschland (KNH e.V. - a registered charitable association) for community and poverty reduction oriented projects in Ethiopia and Kenia. A central aim of these projects is the improvement of drinking water supplies. One euro from every waterbelt sold from our online Shop goes directly to the KNH e.V. project "Schulbildung und nachhaltige Armutsbekämpfung" in the Girja Region/Ethiopia. (KNH-Project 60772/AA)

So far, working together with our customer Duravit, we have donated the complete cost needed to build a well in the project area "Angolela Na Tera" (KNH project no. 60781).

In many African countries, such as Kenya and Ethiopia, children are given the task of fetching water from wells which are often located many kilometres away. Girls in particular are affected and are required to fetch water instead of going to school.

They often have to walk many kilometres on foot. This project aims to considerably improve the water supply in the district so as to lessen this burden on the women and girls.

Local committees will be established to manage the water supplies and maintain these water points and sanitary facilities. By repairing the roads, families will be granted easier access to the water points. See here for more information on the projects.
